Crow Wing County Warrant Checks
No single public database answers every warrant question in Crow Wing County. A District Court judge in Brainerd signs each warrant. The Sheriff's Office maintains the data and serves the paper. The County Attorney runs a separate case search, and Court Administration keeps the court file.
- Open the Active Warrants page and read the notice above the table.
- Search LENS by the first three letters of the last name, by court file number, or by ICR number.
- Search MCRO for the court file and open the Register of Actions.
- Call Court Administration at 218-824-1310 when results disagree or come back blank.
- Send a data practice request to the Sheriff's Records Unit for a county record.
- Talk to an attorney before you act on a search result.
The Crow Wing County warrant check walks each channel in order.
The Crow Wing Active Warrant Table
The county's public product is an active warrant table wrapped in a legal notice. That wrapper calls it an arrest-warrant database and says Crow Wing County guarantees neither accuracy nor validity. There is no name box and no search button, just a rendered list. The legacy Active Warrant Listing carries the headers, the run timestamp, and a warrants@crowwing.us address.
| Column | What It Shows | What It Cannot Tell You |
|---|---|---|
| Warrant Number | The record identifier | No published format guide |
| Name and Date of Birth | The person named | Nothing beyond the name match |
| Date of Warrant | The issue date | Whether it was recalled later |
| Bond/Bail Amount | The amount on the record | The bond type |
| Offense Level | Felony, gross misdemeanor, or misdemeanor | The warrant type |
| Description | The offense description | The court file number |
| Last Run Date | When the table refreshed | That it matches the court file |
The county Active Warrants page is the wrapper that carries the notice.

Warrants in Crow Wing County: The Main Types
Crow Wing County splits its warrants into two broad groups, criminal arrest warrants and civil warrants. Three subtypes sit inside the criminal group. The public table has no type column, so the category comes from the description or the court record.
| Warrant Type | How It Arises | Who Issues It |
|---|---|---|
| Arrest warrant | A charged offense or a court-order violation | District Court judge |
| Bench warrant | A missed date or release violation | District Court judge |
| Complaint warrant | A complaint by the County Attorney | District Court judge |
| Probation or parole warrant | A breach of supervision conditions | District Court judge |
| Civil warrant | Contempt, family-court, or collection matters | District Court judge |
| Search warrant | A request to search and seize evidence | District Court judge |
Crow Wing LENS and the Three-Letter Rule
LENS is a different product from the Sheriff's table. It covers adult criminal cases the Crow Wing County Attorney's Office files in Crow Wing County District Court. Juvenile matters are outside it. So are civil or family warrants, city ordinance cases, federal warrants, and another county's warrants. The search takes a last name of at least three letters, a court file number, or an ICR number, which is the law-enforcement reference the court system does not use. For warrant questions, call 218-824-1025. The issuing agency still has to confirm every warrant.
Crow Wing County Warrant Records: What They Show
A Crow Wing County warrant record is short. Seven fields show in the table, and the court file holds the rest.
| Warrant Number | The record identifier, shown as CR-2026-00412 with no published format guide |
|---|---|
| Subject Name | The person named, spelled as the issuing office recorded it |
| Date of Birth | Used to separate people who share a name |
| Charge or Description | The offense description |
| Offense Level | Felony, gross misdemeanor, or misdemeanor |
| Bond or Bail Amount | The amount on the record, which may be zero |
| Court File Number | The Minnesota court identifier, missing from the table |
| Issuing Court | Crow Wing County District Court, also missing |
| Status | Active, served, recalled, quashed, or inactivated; the table shows no status column |
Note: The table lists current active entries only, so the story behind a warrant lives in the court file.
Crow Wing Warrant Searches That Miss Names
A missing entry is the most common reason people stop looking too early. The Crow Wing County wrapper says information is entered or updated when new information is received, which is not real time. LENS warns that its results can differ from the court record. Minnesota law adds still more reasons a record can stay invisible. Warrant-index data can remain confidential until custody, service, or a court appearance under Minnesota Statutes section 13.82. A court can delay filing or seal a complaint and arrest warrant under Rule 33.04, and section 260B.171 restricts juvenile records. So treat an empty result as a question, not an answer.
Crow Wing County Warrants: Who Issues, Who Serves
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office does not issue warrants. A Crow Wing County District Court judge signs each one. Deputies then try to locate and arrest the people named. Crow Wing 911 Communications enters warrant information into local, state, and federal databases for eleven law-enforcement agencies. The Sheriff's Wanted Persons page routes warrant questions to the same two offices.

What the 2025 Sheriff Numbers Say About Scale
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's annual report gives the clearest public picture of warrant work in the county. These are activity figures, not an inventory of open warrants. Read the 2025 Sheriff annual report for the surrounding categories. The 2024 report recorded 676 warrant arrests and 16 search warrants.
Handling a Crow Wing County Warrant
Crow Wing County documents one step for resolving a warrant: a call to Court Administration. Staff can say which court holds the case and what the judge set next. They cannot give legal advice.
- Confirm the case and the warrant type through the county table, LENS, MCRO, and Court Administration.
- Ask whether the warrant is active, who issued it, and whether a new date can be set.
- Contact your attorney, or the Ninth Judicial District Public Defender's Office at 218-828-6134.
- If bail is set, ask where to post it. The county lists Court Administration and the jail lobby kiosk.
- Keep every receipt, then confirm the warrant was recalled or inactivated.
Important: Talk to a lawyer before you turn yourself in. Being stopped with an active warrant can lead to arrest at any hour.
The county FAQ carries the public defender address.
Posting Bail on a Crow Wing Warrant
Two counters take cash bail in Crow Wing County. Court Administration sits at 213 Laurel Street, Suite 11, and takes payments on weekdays. The jail lobby at 313 Laurel Street has a kiosk as well. Online posting goes through Inmate Canteen and tops out at $1,000, with a vendor fee on card transactions. The county posts no bond schedule and prints no form just for a warrant. Call Court Administration first to learn the amount and any conditions before you make the trip. Posting bail can inactivate the warrant, though the case itself stays open until the issuing court resolves it.
Warrant Record Access Under Minnesota Law
Minnesota presumes that government data are public, then carves out exceptions. Inspection is free. Copies can carry an actual-cost charge, and any denial has to cite the legal basis for withholding the record.
Key Rules:
Minn. Stat. 13.03 presumes public data and requires a cited basis for denial.
Minn. Stat. 13.82, subd. 19 can keep arrest-warrant-index data confidential until service or appearance.
Minn. R. Pub. Access 8 limits remote access to pending criminal and juvenile records.
Minn. Stat. 260B.171 allows no direct public electronic access to juvenile records.
A courthouse terminal can hold Crow Wing County warrant records that never reach the web. If an office withholds one, ask for the classification in writing.
Nightcap, Quashed, and Other Local Warrant Terms
Crow Wing County uses a few terms that rarely appear elsewhere. Two come from the Sheriff's own definitions.
- Nightcap

- Quashed
- Set aside. The county's definition says the warrant is gone and a new court date follows.
- Bench warrant
- An arrest warrant tied to a missed appearance, a release violation, or a court-order violation.
- Complaint warrant
- A warrant issued with or after a criminal complaint.
- Civil warrant
- The county term for noncriminal process, including contempt and family-court matters.
- Sign-and-release warrant
- A qualifying first failure-to-appear warrant that does not authorize arrest or require bail.

When a Crow Wing Warrant Data Request Helps
A phone call cannot always answer a warrant question in Crow Wing County. When it cannot, the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act lets you ask in writing. You never have to give your name or address. The county's form does need an email address or phone number, though, so staff can send a reply. Keep one thing in mind. Both your request and the response become public records. Since the form offers only a single description box, spell out the date range, the agency, any incident or case number, and the record type you want. If you are requesting private data about yourself, that goes through a separate route requiring authorization, and a signature not made in person must be notarized. Crow Wing County publishes no warrant-search fee and no warrant-specific turnaround time.
